What is Full Spectrum CBD?

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

When you shop around for CBD products in the UK, you might find the numerous terms that get thrown around to be awfully confusing. And the reason for that is quite simple: CBD is a complex, diverse substance. How it’s split up and how it is used within various platforms and substances changes it drastically. One term that we wish to concentrate on today, though, is that of Full Spectrum CBD.

The term Full Spectrum, especially when compared to a term like CBD Isolate, can make it sound very powerful indeed. However, it’s important that you can think of CBD in terms other than ‘Good’ or ‘Bad’; there is ample room for both CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum CBD, for example.

What does Full Spectrum CBD mean?

So, the term Full Spectrum CBD relates to the way in which the product was made. Typically, a Full Spectrum product in CBD terms will be one that contains all of the cannabinoids that are found within cannabis plants in nature. A CBD Isolate product, by contrast, would have isolated just one of the cannabinoids that are found in cannabis (usually CBD and CBD alone).

That is important to note, though, because Full Spectrum CBD is often associated with what is known as Entourage Effect. This means that you get a far more complete level of effectiveness as all of the cannabinoids work together in harmony and in tandem. Not only are they usually more effective, but they are more effective because there is more than a singular, isolated CBD molecule taken from the original plant. With over 100 different cannabinoids found in a plant, you can find that there is plenty to pick from. Why just limit yourself to a singular part of the goodness that comes from cannabis plants?

What are the most important parts of Full Spectrum CBD?

So, while we don’t want to list all 100, we believe that the following ingredients within Full Spectrum CBD makes it such a potent combination:

  • CBD. Of course, Full Spectrum CBD must have some form of CBD in there for good measure. This is a unique, naturally anti-inflammatory substance that manages our bodies naturally. It has no psychoactive compounds, and it’s expected plays a major role in balancing our body out.

  • CBG. CBG, or Cannabigerol, is a primary part of both CBD and THC (see below). This is used to help break down certain related acids and turns it into a useful compound for the body. This is known to help combat issues as varied as glaucoma to IBD.

  • CBN. Next on the list would be Cannabinol, which is believed to be associated with pain relief and delivering a sense of calmness and relaxation. It might even play a role to help combat sleep problems, meaning you can rest easier at night.

  • CBC. Cannabichromene is a very powerful part of Full Spectrum CBD and is even linked to being a natural cancer combatant. It helps to work alongside natural compounds within the body, using anandamide to help improve our ability to combat against serious illness.

  • THC. While just about any Full Spectrum CBD product in the UK will be either THC-free or using less than 0.3% to ensure it’s still a hemp product, it’s still present in many Full Spectrum CBD products that you can buy. THC is the psychoactive substance.

As you can see, then, the difference between Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate can be quite spectacular. If you want more than just one CBD hit, and you don’t wish to limit what you can get from using CBD-based products, take a look at our growing Full Spectrum CBD options today.
